This is a half-day workshop on how to prepare your images for printing and working them so that you can get a little extra in postproduction applications.

John will be offering a 4 hour presentation using computers, cameras and examples on getting better image through the use of your computer and using Photoshop or Photoshop elements or similar programs. He will cover sizing, brightness/contract, hurt/saturation, highlight/shadow, colour correction and printing profiles. It will be a hands-on approach. 

You will need access to your digital camera and a laptop computer (with your editing program installed on it). John suggests that "Gimp" is a free alternative to Photoshop. Contact John if you have questions about your equipment or editing programs - email: lightline@sasktel.net

You will be working on some of your own photos, so you must arrive with images you want to perfect.

Learn how to master macro photography, the art of photographing something small in bigger that life size -  "little is the new big". 

Macro photography is not always easy, especially for beginners, but it is one of the most rewarding genres of photography you can do. With the right skills, you will be able to capture amazing images even in your own backyard. Colin has honed his macro photography skills - sign up for this workshop to learn his secrets.

Kit includes an assortment of wool, a 3 needle punch with needles, a 7 needle punch with needles, spare needles, finger guard and a felting pad. There will also be a separate kit of wool needed for this project.

Workshop #9:   Doug Cox presents
Pyrography with Colour
********************
1/2 day workshop

Sunday, October 28
9am - noon


Pyrography art work is usually done with varying monochromatic shades of brown, from light to very dark to black. From time to time however, a picture benefits greatly by adding color to it.

In this class the students will be wood-burning an image of birds at a bird house and adding vibrant colours to the picture. Doug will explain how to use water color washes and artist oil color pencil crayons to achieve a fantastic finished piece.

Workshop fees plus $10 for materials:
- Early bird registration by Sept 30 is $35 plus materials
- Registration after Sept 30 will be $45 plus materials

The $10 materials fee is to be added to the above pricing.

Val will discuss what criteria she follows when she is a judge.

Then she will lead the group through a critique of the art that they bring in to help them see what a judge would see in their work. They will see their work through different eyes. This workshop would be a good one for anyone entering art competitions as well as any potential judges.
