ARTIST TRADING CARDS

Introduced in 2018  - Will be back for 2022 with a couple of additional challenges - see in the box below

Artist trading cards are unique works signed and dated on the reverse by the artist.  They are 2 12 by 3 12 inches (64 mm × 89 mm) and are meant to be exchanged and collected - the same as baseball cards.

Artists submit cards of their original work. The cards will be displayed during the show; at the end of the show they will randomly be given out to the artists, so you will receive card(s) from someone else. For our show these cards must have a focus on nature.

Find out more about Artist Trading Cards on Wikipedia at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artist_trading_cards

NOTE: We accept both photographic cards and painted or mixed media cards. The work must be the artist's original work, not reproductions. If you submit photographic cards, you will get another photographic card in the trade. If a painted or mixed media card is submitted, you will be traded with another artist's painted or mixed media card.

If a Canadian artist is not going to be there they can mail in their card with a self addressed stamped envelope to:
Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association
Box 910
Martensville, SK. S0K 2T0.

NOTE that a card will be mailed back in that envelope - so if the artist wants it to be a padded envelope, or an envelope with an extra cardboard for protection - that envelope must be what they send. If the artist feels confident that the card will arrive safely without extra reinforcement a simple envelope will be fine.

SOMETHING EXTRA - TRADING CARD CHALLENGES

To kick start the creative process, we will have a few extra challenges during the year. Here's how it works:
- you send in a card based upon that particular challenge
- we post it on our website
- the public picks their favourites
- the cards will be displayed at the show in October
- and traded at the end of the show so you get a card from a different artist
- include a self addressed postage paid envelope if you can't be at the show to complete your trade on October 23.

NOTE: We still accept cards not included in these challenges depicting something with nature or wildlife as the focus. The challenges are simply to get our creative juices flowing.
